Confessions of a Delinquent Blogger
Ok, so you haven't heard from me in about a week. I've had a good excuse, really! In the past two weeks, I've been out in California, hung out in a primeval forest, attended 3 conferences, given 3 presentations, and oh yeah, by the way, mailed off my manuscript for my first book. Whew! I get even more tired just thinking about all that work.
But it really hasn't been work. Okay, maybe spending 3 hours finishing up the 7 page glossary for the book was work, but the rest . . . well, it was pure pleasure. I thought I'd bring you up to speed on the last couple of weeks:
On the 8th, I headed to California for the ICF (International Coach Federation) conference. I was really looking forward to connecting with all my coaching buddies. Here are some of the great people I caught up with:
- Carol Zimmerman from Multiple Hats Mastery (Carol also does Human Design)
- Garry Schleifer from Choice Magazine (and so much more!)
- Stephen Fairley (he's got it goin' on!)
- Kimberly Fulcher (Kim just published her first book "Remodel Your Reality")
- Donna Steinhorn (Donna is a coaching dynamo)
- Ruth Ann Harnisch (leader of the Coach 100 Free program)
- Andy Wibbels (Andy has a book on blogging coming out in April)
- Stever Robbins (need some traction for your business?)
- Shari Horne (she's doing the redesign of my website and blog)
- and so many more!
My friend, Kimberly Fulcher, threw an amazing shindig that Friday night at her house. Not only is she the hostess with the mostess, that woman is a force of nature! She can work a room, and she does it with beauty, grace, and sincerity.
I also got a chance to hang out with my editor, David, from Wiley at their booth at ICF. That's when David told me the book is coming out a month earlier than originally scheduled - in April! We discussed book cover designs, followup book plans, and Oprah. David has a great vision, and he believes in my work. I'm lucky to have him on my team.
On Saturday the 12th, I flew from San Jose to L.A. for the BNI and Referral Institute conferences. I attended the BNI gala Saturday night with all the BNI directors worldwide and it was fabulous. Got to hang out with my good buddies Mike Garrison (VP of Referral Institute) and Eddie Esposito (Dir. of Training and Dev. for Referral Institute). Said hello to Dr. Ivan Misner, founder and CEO of BNI. You'll be hearing lots more about The Referral Institute in the next year.
On Sunday I attended The Referral Institute conference. They are experiencing tremendous growth! In the afternoon, I spoke on Directive coaching, which is a hybrid of coaching, consulting, and training. I also gave a sneak peek of the concepts in my new book and the room was buzzing with pre-orders and requests to hear more. Everywhere I go, people are intrigued by abundance, scarcity and greatness.
I also spent an amazing day at Muir Woods and I'll share that in another post.
Great to be back!
